Traditional Dental Crown & Bridge

Dental crowns are one of the most often used forms of smile repair. Dr. Aydazada may recommend a dental crown to repair your damaged teeth for a variety of reasons including:

  • Decay or damage too severe to be repaired with a simple filling
  • To conceal an aesthetic flaw or irregularity
  • To protect teeth with root fillings

A series of dental crowns can be fused together in order to form a fixed bridge tooth replacement prosthetic. If you lose one to three consecutive teeth, a fixed bridge can be attached to surrounding, healthy teeth to “bridge” the gap in your smile. Crowns and bridges can be used as part of dental implant supported tooth replacement, offering a natural looking and feeling solution.

Crowns are crafted from a number of materials including gold, metals, porcelain fused to metal, and all-ceramic. Depending on your desired level of service, we can help you select a material that will effectively repair damaged dental structures.

Dental Onlays & Inlays

Dental onlays and inlays are often a great restorative solution for patients who need more involved improvements than traditional fillings can provide but are not ready to take the leap with a full dental crown. The restoration is placed within the tooth to correct decay and/or structural damage, with inlays being designed to fit within the cusps of the tooth and onlays being designed to wrap up and over the cusps. The procedure is conservative, and Dr. Aydazada will remove as little tooth structure as possible to preserve its overall health and strength.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

Fillings have been used for decades to repair teeth following cavities or minor dental damage. Traditionally, amalgam fillings were the standard in care. Today, we still recommend amalgams for a number of patients, which offer durable and effective treatment. If you are interested in a more aesthetic solution, we can also provide fillings made from composite resin. This material can be shaded to blend into your smile. We apply these tooth-coloured fillings directly to the damaged dental structure. In its malleable form, we’re able to mold the composite resin to fill in the tiniest gaps and cracks and restore the lost tooth structure. Once the resin is in place, we use a curing light to harden the material. When the composite resin is hardened, it will blend seamlessly into your smile.

Dentures & Partial Dentures

Tooth loss is unfortunate, but there are effective options to renew oral health following even the most extensive tooth loss. Dr. Aydazada will help you by replacing missing teeth with partial and full dentures. These tooth replacement prosthetics consist of a gum-colored base with a number of replacement teeth attached. Partials are crafted to fit between remaining healthy teeth and are held in place with metal clasps. Full dentures are made to fit snugly against the gums creating suction that holds the denture in position. For improved comfort and stability, we also offer dental implant supported dentures.

Root Fillings

Root fillings are necessary when patients experience damage or decay that reaches the inner layer of the tooth. This innermost layer houses the nerve system of the tooth, and when damage accesses the nerve, the result is a painful toothache. Call our team right away for a root filling if you or a loved one experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Severe toothache pain
  • Sharp pain when biting into foods
  • Lingering dental sensitivity to temperature changes
  • Tooth discoloration

Dr. Aydazada will do her utmost to see you the same day you call with symptoms that indicate a need for a root filling.

Tooth Extractions

Dr. Aydazada will work to protect and repair damaged smiles, but there are some cases when removing the tooth is necessary to protect your oral health. When this is the case, we carefully pull or surgically extract teeth in partnership with an onsite surgical specialist as necessary. In addition to removing teeth that are too damaged to be repaired, we may also need to extract teeth in preparation for denture creation and placement and orthodontic treatments. The most often extracted teeth are the third molars, wisdom teeth. Because of their eruption late in life, there is often inadequate space along the jaw line to accommodate this additional set of teeth.
