Porcelain Veneers and Lumineers

Veneers are thin sheaths of dental porcelain custom crafted to fit over the front facing surfaces of teeth. These porcelain veneers are used to conceal any number of smile flaws. Sometimes referred to as instant orthodontics, veneers instantly cover a variety of aesthetic irregularities like chips, cracks, gaps between teeth, stains, and discoloration. The process is simple. We polish away a small amount of surface enamel. This is so that the veneer does not alter the natural line of your smile. We then capture impressions of your altered teeth. These impressions are used to craft a custom, high quality veneer. Until your custom veneer is completed, we place a temporary to protect the prepared teeth. When we receive your final veneer, you’ll need to return to our office to exchange the temporary for your custom porcelain veneer. We also offer the Lumineers brand. These ultra-thin veneers allow us to place your custom aesthetic dental solution without removing any natural dental structure.

Metal-Free Dental Restorations

These metal-free, all-ceramic restorations blur the line between aesthetic and restorative care. We take the appearance of your smile into consideration whenever we recommend a treatment option, but all-ceramic crowns offer both cosmetic enhancement and repair of dental damage. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to metal, all-ceramic crowns and bridges are your best option. Restorations are available in a variety of materials. For back teeth, we still frequently recommend gold or metal amalgam crowns, as these are able to absorb the greatest amount pressure. Porcelain bonded crowns provide an improved appearance with the strength of metal crowns, but overtime, the porcelain wears away and needs to be repaired. All-ceramic crowns are crafted from a single block of high quality ceramic, and even after years of wear, they retain their natural appearance. Metal-free restorations are highly recommended for those patients who need to repair front facing teeth.

Direct Cosmetic Dental Bonding

Using the same composite resin material that creates tooth-colored fillings, we can provide direct bonding as a purely aesthetic treatment for dental damage or flaws. Bonding can rival the results possible with porcelain veneers, but it can be completed in just one visit saving you considerable time and money. The process is simple. If you choose direct bonding, we start by numbing the area to be treated. Then, we prepare teeth by removing any damaged dental tissue. We directly apply the malleable composite resin to the tooth or teeth you wish to change. Then, Dr. Aydazada shapes the bonding material into place, and a curing light is used to harden the material in place. Once the composite is hardened, we polish the tooth, and you leave our office with a flawless smile in just one, short visit. In most cases, the entire process takes about an hour.

In-Chair Teeth Whitening

If you have tried teeth whitening products purchased from your local pharmacy with little success, you are not alone. A recent BBC program revealed that these whitening products (yes even those big complicated ones with lights and gels) have almost no effect. Fortunately for you, Dr. Aydazada offers advanced, professional teeth whitening solutions in the comfort of our Kensington High Street dentistry office. These in chair whitening treatments take about an hour, and when you leave our office, your smile will be up to ten shades brighter.

Home Teeth Whitening Kits

Whitening from the comfort of home may be your preference, and if it is, we offer a range of bespoke take home whitening kits to help you achieve predictable results. Worn over the course of several weeks, these professional quality whitening kits produce results similar to in chair whitening. If you have sensitive teeth or would like to see results gradually, ask Dr. Aydazada about home whitening to brighten your smile up to ten shades.

Gum Recontouring

For some patients, adjusting the amount or shape of gum tissue is the best way to improve the appearance of smiles. If you think your smile looks “gummy” or that your teeth look “stubby,” you may want to consider gum recontouring. This dental treatment is used to remove a small amount of soft tissue, so your smile looks even and gum tissue does not extend too far over teeth.
